研究上の強み: Research Advantage

  • Blast Injury:Our research focuses on the development of protective measures, emergency medical care, and treatment for blast injuries, using the large-scale shock wave generator, also known as the blast tube. Notably, this device was the first of its kind to be established in Japan, marking a significant advancement in our nation’s medical capabilities.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury: We specialize in the prevention and treatment of traumatic brain injury using a variety of head injury models, ranging from mild to severe.
  • Hemorrhagic Shock:We are conducting research on transfusion and resuscitation strategies using artificial blood and resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA).

研究概要:Mission

Our mission is to develop new diagnostic and treatment methods, as well as to advance emergency medical care. The overarching objective of these efforts is to contribute to the international community, which has been designated as an official mission of the Ministry of Defense of Japan, and to enhance the survival rates of trauma patients in emergency and disaster situations. Our research is centered on basic research on blast injuries, traumatic brain injury and hemorrhagic shock. These subjects hold particular significance within the domain of combat casualty care. Conducting surveys and research that utilizes medical databases, such as the Japan Trauma Data Bank and the Japan Neurotrauma Data Bank, is also part of our mission.
