1. 1)To set up IntResCO as the POC for the National Defense Medical College (NDMC).

2. 2)To collect information and to start research by helping to connect researchers at the NDMC with researchers at foreign military research institutions.

3. 3)To translate the NDMCRI website into English and improve our ability to connect with others through social media and other channels.

2. Within three year/by the end of 2027: Start working together on research projects
   My vision is:
1. 1)To start working on several new international collaborative research projects.
2. 2)To support education (including helping with study abroad and international exchange programs to/from the NDMC, creating educational classes, etc.).
3. Within five year/by the end of 2029: Achieving results from collaborative research
   My vision is:
1. 1)To report on multiple international papers that were arranged by IntResCO.
2. 2)To grow as a research support organization and to transfer the right technology
4. Within ten year/by the end of 2034: Setting up systems as an international hub
   My vision is:
1. 1)To double the rate of international papers written together by NDMC members (7.1% in 2023 → to over 15% in a single year). These figures are based on Nakayama’s survey, which looks at the rate of English paper co-authorship between G7 member countries and NDMC.
2. 2)To be involved in creating policy and helping with various administrative tasks

Jan. 1st, 2025  The position of IntResCO was created, and Akiyoshi Nakayama was appointed as the first professor.

国際交流研究官 ニュース&イベント：IntResCO News & Event

IntResCO was a part of the 2026 Summer Internship Program Results Presentation at the U.S. Army Garrison Japan at Camp Zama. This year, students from the NDMC started participating, too.

The abstract of IntResCO was accepted for the Military Health System Research Symposium 2026 (MHSRS2026) in Kissimmee, FL, USA. IntResCO gave an poster presentation on the IntResCO activities.

IntResCO helped with the courtesy visit by the Commander of the RTANC (Royal Thai Army Nursing College), and a short-term training program for RTANC students. The RTANC is the army nursing school in Bangkok, Thailand.

IntResCO provided support for the academic sessions at the 6th ASEAN Military Medicine Conference (AMMC). This conference was held as part of the events commemorating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the ASEAN Center of Military Medicine (ACMM) in Bangkok. Of the 13 papers submitted from ASEAN Plus countries, two from Japan/NDMC, were accepted and presented (one oral presentation and one poster presentation).

IntResCO was a part of the 10th International Forum on Blast Injury Countermeasures (IFBIC 2026) in McLean, VA, USA. IntResCO also helped organize the event as part of the steering committee.
